How Gutenvox Works

Gutenvox turns public-domain book discovery into a simple reading and listening workflow.

1. Search

Search Project Gutenberg by title, author, or classic. Availability depends on the source catalog, network access, and the formats attached to each book.

2. Save

Add a public-domain book to Gutenvox so it appears in your library and listening shelf. Saved books keep the experience focused on titles you actually want to read.

3. Listen

Open the reader, press play, and continue through chapters with narration controls. Gutenvox is designed for long-form listening rather than one-off text snippets.

Narration And Free Use

Gutenvox uses transparent on-device synthetic narration, not a human audiobook recording. Reading remains available. Narration begins with a seven-day unlimited trial; afterward, the free tier includes 20 narration minutes per day. Optional Plus plans remove the narration limit.

Where LibriVox Fits

LibriVox is a valuable public-domain audiobook source, but Gutenvox does not claim an official LibriVox integration. If you are researching books without audiobook recordings, compare candidate titles against LibriVox and other audiobook catalogs manually.
