Privacy Policy

Gutenvox is built as a local reading and listening app for public-domain books. We do not sell your personal information, track you across apps or websites, or use third-party advertising SDKs.
Information We Collect
Gutenvox does not require an account for reading public-domain books. The app may store reading preferences, saved-book state, playback settings, subscription entitlement state, and similar app settings on your device.
If you email support, you may choose to share your email address, device model, iOS version, app version, and a description of the issue so we can respond.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. Gutenvox receives purchase status needed to unlock paid features, but payment details are handled by Apple.
Public-Domain Book Sources
When you search, browse, or download public-domain books, the app may contact external public-domain catalog and file hosts such as Project Gutenberg. Those services may process requests according to their own policies.
Diagnostics
Release builds should not expose development diagnostics in the app UI. If future builds add crash reporting or analytics, this policy and App Store privacy disclosures must be updated before release.
Website Analytics
The Gutenvox website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views, referral sources, approximate region, device type, and browser type. This helps us understand which public pages and outreach channels are useful. The website analytics are separate from the Gutenvox iOS app: they do not receive your saved books, reading history, listening activity, purchases, email address, or in-app behavior.
Email Updates
If you choose to join the Gutenvox mailing list, submitting the signup form adds your email address to the list so we can send the updates described there, such as new public-domain novel releases, reading guides, and Gutenvox features.
Resend processes and stores mailing-list addresses on our behalf and delivers updates. We do not add purchased, scraped, or outreach addresses to this list. Every update includes an unsubscribe option; after you unsubscribe, the address may remain on a suppression list so we can honor that choice. You may also request deletion by contacting us.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We do not use third-party advertising tracking. We share information only with service providers needed to operate Gutenvox, such as Apple for App Store purchases, Vercel for website hosting and aggregate analytics, and Resend for mailing-list delivery, or when required by law.
Children
Gutenvox is not directed to children under 13. The app focuses on public-domain books and reader/listening tools.
